My name is Maja Wijk, and I’m a 3D artist! I’ve just completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Game Design and Graphics at Uppsala University, where I worked on games with Jackdaw, as well as on smaller assignments and projects. I’ve worked on the 3D for both Metamorph and the upcoming game Libertine.

For Metamorph, I did most of the 3D in the environment and all 3D characters meshes, rigs and animations. All 3D includes both modelling and texturing, as well as sculpting in some cases. Beyond 3D, I also did most lighting in the game and any 3D cinematics.
During Metamorph, our team was a lot smaller, which lead to me having to do both characters and environments. When we started the project, I enjoyed asset creation more than I did rigging and animation, but by the end, characters, rigging and animating ended up being my favourite part.
When we started making Libertine, our team had grown larger and there was no need for me to do the amount of work I did for Metamorph. Instead, I mainly focused on the 3D hands within the game. This included modelling, making a custom rig and figuring out a way to chop of the fingers. The solution ended up being using different material slots in the hand. This meant having to create a lot of textures, such as textures for each finger being cut off. Beyond the hands, I also ended up making a couple of assets within the game, primarily objects that would need to be rigged. Some items included the screen, the store machines, and the eyeballs that spawn on the table. I also did non-rigged assets, such as the casino tables, the meat wall texture and the worm pile. Just like in Metamorph, I also ended up doing most cinematics and was partially in charge of lighting.
Beyond Metamorph and Libertine, I’ve also worked on some smaller, group, and individual projects. One of which is a 3D character for they 3D Animation course that I took in my second year, where I was responsible for rigging, skinning and a couple of animations, while also helping out with a bit of modelling.
I also took a 3D environment course in my second year, where I made a castle environment, including modelling, texturing and lighting.
